چکیده

We initiate the study of general neighborhood growth dynamics on two-dimensional Hamming graphs. The decision to add a point is made by counting the currently occupied points on the horizontal and the vertical line through it, and checking whether the pair of counts lies outside a fixed Young diagram. We focus on two related extremal quantities. The first is the size of the smallest set that eventually occupies the entire plane. The second is the minimum of an energyentropy functional that comes from the scaling of the probability of eventual full occupation versus the density of the initial product measure within a rectangle. We demonstrate the existence of this scaling and study these quantities for large Young diagrams.

Maximal spanning time for neighborhood growth on the Hamming plane

We consider a long-range growth dynamics on the two-dimensional integer lattice, initialized by a finite set of occupied points. Subsequently, a site x becomes occupied if the pair consisting of the counts of occupied sites along the entire horizontal and vertical lines through x lies outside a fixed Young diagram Z. We study the extremal quantity μ(Z), the maximal finite time at which the latt...

Discrete Threshold Growth Dynamics Are Omnivorous for Box Neighborhoods

In the discrete threshold model for crystal growth in the plane we begin with some set A0 ⊂ Z2 of seed crystals and observe crystal growth over time by generating a sequence of subsets A0 ⊂ A1 ⊂ A2 ⊂ · · · of Z2 by a deterministic rule. This rule is as follows: a site crystallizes when a threshold number of crystallized points appear in the site’s prescribed neighborhood. The growth dynamics ge...

Inverse Maximum Dynamic Flow Problem under the Sum-Type Weighted Hamming Distance

Inverse maximum flow (IMDF), is among the most important problems in the field ofdynamic network flow, which has been considered the Euclidean norms measure in previousresearches. However, recent studies have mainly focused on the inverse problems under theHamming distance measure due to their practical and important applications. In this paper,we studies a general approach for handling the inv...

Constant time Steepest Ascent Local Search with Statistical Lookahead for NK-Landscapes

A modified form of steepest ascent local search is proposed that displays an average complexity of O(1) time per move for NKLandscape problems. The algorithm uses a Walsh decomposition to identify improving moves. In addition, it is possible to compute a Hamming distance 2 statistical lookahead: if x is the current solution and y is a neighbor of x, it is possible to compute the average evaluat...

Hamming Compatible Quantization for Hashing

Hashing is one of the effective techniques for fast Approximate Nearest Neighbour (ANN) search. Traditional single-bit quantization (SBQ) in most hashing methods incurs lots of quantization error which seriously degrades the search performance. To address the limitation of SBQ, researchers have proposed promising multi-bit quantization (MBQ) methods to quantize each projection dimension with mu...
